"Rock Paintings" Series
by Daniel, Cally and Sylvia Deppen (aka "three stooges")

At Mesa Verde National Park we saw beautiful rock paintings done by Native Americans. This gave us a great idea. We could make presents for everyone back home.

We utilized our first real rainy day on our trip, to collect rocks and to paint them. They are by no means as great as the collection we saw in the museum, but it was great fun to make them.

We got into Kokopellis after seeing these neat figures on the outside walls of our vacation home at Rim Village in Moab, UT. I took lots of pictures and started to draw them into my journal.

Later on in Durango, on a rainy day, we all painted scenes on the rocks we had collected from the field behind our cabin.
